Taming your fears with Hypnotherapy

Phobia's, fears or what ever you prefer to call them. From fear of flying to fear of the opposite sex. Fear of tall buildings, fear of water, fear of spiders, fear of snakes, fear of bee's, fear of driving, fear of the dark, fear of failure, fear of some tasks. Even fear of wind. They are all disabling to the person with it and they can stand in your way.

Fear of failure is the root of many other fears. Fore example Fear of public speaking is fear of failure. The person may feel that they will make a mistake and look like a idiot. Hence fear of failure.

Dealing with fears is very effective with Hypnotherapy. This is actually one of the easier tasks to deal with. Although to the person who is suffering from his or her fear(s), it seems like nobody can help. As a Certified Hypnotherapist, knowledge of dealing with this all to common problem is part of the basic's.

First discovering if the problem is complex or simple is part of what the Certified Hypnotherapist does. Then the selection of the proper therapy is next. Followed by the sigh of relief of the formerly affected person. From my experience in dealing with fears I have found that depending on the number of elements that started the fear will be directly related to the number of sessions. For example if you have just 1 or 2 elements that cause your fear then 1 session may be enough. The more elements that cause your fears the longer it will take.

As an example: A young boy of 6 got up one evening to go to the toilet. He then walked into the living room where his mother was watching a movie on television. His mother did not notice that he had walked in and was watching the movie for some time. While the boy was watching there was a scene that a scorpion had crawled in a bed and went under the covers. Then a boy about the same age climbed in the bed and was stung by the scorpion.

This was the element that set up the fear for that boy that he carried until he was an adult. It took 2 sessions to eliminate this problem. In the first session the initial fear was removed. the second session age regression was done taking him back to the time when he was 6 again. This allowed him to relive the event except with the perspective of an adult. Because memories change or morph the problem evolves as time goes on never seeming to go away. Often we have the ability to deal with the problem in it's original form, but find it overwhelming after the memories have changed. As a direct result of his fear of scorpions he had a fear of spiders that went away all by itself. In his subconscious mind they were one and the same.

Total fear was not removed, only the excessive fear. This was deliberate so as not to encourage recklessness. The proper respect people have for things that bite or sting remains. Just the overwhelming panic was removed. Just as people have respect for a nest of hornets, you would not stick your unprotected hand in their nest. So in short he was returned to a more normal state of mind.

In a story I heard on the radio, Tobey Maguire who played Spider Man had a fear of putting the mask on to make the movie. Even the twenty million dollar incentive could not help him. He then found help by going to a Certified Hypnotherapist. You know the rest of that story. With this example you can see how powerful and effective Hypnosis is. You can find another similar example as used with OCD.

There are several methods I use for helping people overcome their fears. If you suffer from some fear(s), or if you prefer phobia(s) and want to put it to rest so you can get on with your life, please contact me for you confidential free phone consultation.
